Albania invites bids for construction of Vlora’s central boulevard

The Albanian Development Fund (ADF) said it is inviting bids in a tender for the construction of the central boulevard of the city of Vlora, to be co-financed from proceeds of a loan from the Council of Europe Development Bank (CEB). The bidding deadline isFebruary 6 and construction works must be completed in 10 months, ADF said in a notice posted on its website last week. The construction of the boulevard in the southwestern coastal Albanian city is part of a major project for the development of the Albanian Alps and coastal areas, co-financed with a 28.7 million euro ($34.5million) loan from CEB and a contribution of 6 million euro from the Albanian government, ADF said. Bidding will be conducted through open tender procedures based on the CEB’s guidelines for procurement of supplies, works and services, and is open to bidders from any country. The Albanian Development Fund (ADF) is a public agency whose mission is to encourage a sustainable, balanced and cohesive socio-economic development at local and regional level. The ADF was established at the beginning of 1993, based on an agreement between the Albanian government and the World Bank.
